PeoDle and Resources

Our goal is to establish a dialogue with customers by evaluating community impressions of water
service, quality and conservation.

The goal of efficient water use is shared by the Board, the employees and many interested
citizens. Through these joint efforts, Ute Water will wolk toward reducing and eliminating water waste
w bile providing the water resources necessary to sustain our community . We invite anyone interested in
participating in this ongoing dialogue to call the Ute Water office at 970-242-7491.

HOW WE PLAN TO GET THERE

Many strategies and methods are tieing implemented to accomplish these goals. The methods

range from being public sector role models to helping customers eliminate waste and use water wisely.

However, this plan will only succeed with the willing participation of all our customers in reducing water

waste and increasing water efficiency. The water conservation strategies are arranged in the order of "first

attack" in the following categories:

. Ute Water facilities
. Residential: Single-Family
. Business / Industrial
. Residential: Multifamily
. General applicabilily

Selection of Stratel!ies

Strategies and methods included in this Master Plan have met the following criteria:
. - T - caii tne-progrnmbe-iiriPfemeiiied? -- -- - - -- -- - - - - --
. Are there legal considerations which may affect the program? Does the
responsibility for implementing the program fall within Ute Water's
jurisdiction?
2. Is the program cost effective in the long ron?
. Do the projected savings justify the cost required to implement it when
compared to other options? Would another approach cost less or offer
greater savings?

16
