WHERE WE WANT TO BE

Ute Water would like to provide all of the water needed for the uses desired by its

customers in a manner that is as efficient as current knowledge and teclmology will allow, tempered

by reasonable cost considerations.

Current water use records indicate that in the District's service area, single- family

demand accounts for approximately 66.6 % of the Distric1's total annual water demand.

Industria1/business use 11.7%, multi-family, churches, and schools, use 6.7%, and 15% is unaccounted

for or, more accurately stated, is unmetered. This unrnetered watednc1udes water lost through leaks and

pipeline breaks, loading and flushing e"..pansion and repairs, firefighting and other incidental occurances

conunon to an expansive domestic distribution system. This is illustrated by the following graph.

IWATER USE BY CATEGORY ~

(66.6%)

(6.7%)

_SINGLE FAMILY
ElllINDUSTRIAL BUSINESS
_UNACCOUNTED
lZ3SCHOOLS CHURCHES

(11.7%)

"L

/ f' o.

j ~ _"""~':"""".....ili ,ro_m fun'" '=;re.... If these plans are implemented successfully, in the

bcst judgement of the role of water use efficiency plans in the Distric1's water supply planning, annual
demand in the,Year 2045 will be at least 14,000 acre feet less than it would be without conservation.

These are achievable goals by 2045 using conservative projections and volunlaty compliance by

customers.
