.

Teacher training woIkshops for recertification credits are available in cooperation with the

Colorado Water Conservation Board.

The Annual Children's Water Festival is a major activity in which conservation plays a large

role. The annual average attendance is 1,500 5th grade students, plus teachers, during the day-long event.

The adults and other children in the community are targeted during an evening session with an

abbreviated festival.

The District has available for teachers and others a water education library including videos,
teacher guides and student workbooks, at no cost. These include: The StolV of Drinking Water (Teacher
Guide and student woIkbook.) The videos which are available at the District office are: "The Wonders of
Water", "Safeguarding the Environment", "Xeriscape - Landscaping to Save Water, Time and Money",
"Big Fears, Little Risk", "Professor Water: Fantastic Facts About H20", "Water, Gift of Life", "What Do
You Know About H20?", and "Down the Drain." These materials may be checked out at any time with a
telephone call to 242-7491 for reservations.

Metering
The District has required metering of all services since water was delivered to our first customer
in 1963. The intent of this requirement is threefold.

1. Customers will be charged ouly for the amount of water used.
2. The District is able to compare finished water production to metered water sales which allows
us to determine the amount of finished water unaccounted for. Steps may then be taken to
reduce this loss by enhancing our leak detection program.
3. This was
done to discourage the use of domestic water for irrigation landscapes. The District's current rate
stroclure is included in Exhibit B. The District reserves the right to adjust the rate strocture at any time.

12
