<br />. <br /> <br />WHERE WE ARE TODAY <br /> <br />ACCOMPliSHMENTS AND CURRENT PROGRAMS: <br />PUBLIC EDUCATION <br />Information and outreach <br />Currently the District has a Customer Infonnation BookIet (Exhibit A) available to all customers <br />which outlines the roles and regulations of the District, along with conservation measures our customers <br />can take to reduce their water bills. This bookIet is upgraded and reissued eveI)' two years to reflect <br />changes in policy, rates, and new programs. Also, due to the influx of people from all over the United <br />States, when a new customer signs for seIVice, they are infonned of the irrigation wa1er available in the <br /> <br />valley. <br /> <br />The District has speakers available to address various civic and service organizations, as well as <br />school classes. Conservation is always a part of any address made by District personnel. <br /> <br />There are numerous brochures available from the District office regarding conservation which <br /> <br />are free to our customers and visibly displayed. Topics include: Water Conservation at Home, Water- <br />Saving TiDS for Kids. bv Kids. Fixilll! a Leaky Fauce!, Be A Leak Seeker, 55 Facts & Figures, 25 Things <br />You Can Do. These and other brochures are available through the District office. If we do not have them, <br />we will get them. <br /> <br />Education and training <br /> <br /> <br />The District offers school programs, including tours of the watef treatment plant, to students and <br /> <br /> <br />teachers in grades K -12 and college. These tours are a vital link to help children understand the <br /> <br /> <br />importance of conservation in their lives and the relationship of water supply and the protection of that <br />water supply. <br /> <br />11 <br />
