I
1

Puroose

The primary purpose of Clifton Water District's Conservation Plan

is to promote the efficient use of water.

Today both reliable demand and reliable supply management are

I
I
--,

integral parts of Clifton Water District's planning process. The

purpose of this Master Plan is to spell-out a general direction for

the efficient use of water by all of the District's customers and to

develop guidelines to maintain the per capita consumption below 100

gallons per day per person. Maintaining a prudent and wise use of

water, the District has identified the benefits afforded to the

utility, our customers, the environment, and overall water quality.

In the process of developing this plan, the Clifton Water

District has considered and evaluated the current District practices

and potential merits of the following nine water conservation

measures.

1) the use of water efficient fixtures and appliances

2) the use of low water use landscapes (Xeriscape) and
efficient irrigation

3) encouraging water efficient industrial and commercial water
using processes

4) investigate water reuse systems, potable and non-potable

5) develop a distribution system leak repair program

6f. - o1.-ssernlnateUrnforma t:l on to- the- pub Hc- regarcf{ng - water - use
efficiency

7) evaluate water rate structure to encourage water use
efficiency

8) implement regulatory measures encouraging water use
efficiency

I
-j

9)

provide incentives for water use efficiency techniques
including rebates for installation of low volume fixtures

Suoportinq Data

The data represented in Graph #1 demonstrates that the maximum

I
I

day demand of the District is approximately three times the average

daily production.
