<br />Town of Castle Rock <br />1992 Water Conservation Grant Application <br />Page 6 <br /> <br />which may cause water consumption to increase or decrease, i.e. visiting <br />relatives, must be carefully monitored and considered. <br /> <br />A cost-benefit analysis will be performed for each residence, and for the <br />project over-all. <br /> <br />To determine the impact of the entire promotion upon diminishing overall <br />Town water use, the average water usage off of utility billing records for <br />residential accounts, water department statistics, and per capita usage figures <br />will be used. This is an on-going evaluation criteria as well for historical use <br />that is employed by staff outside of this program, <br /> <br />Historical climatological data will be considered in evaluation of results as <br />well. Town climatological data are normally tracked for historical <br />information. <br /> <br />As part of the final water conservation newsletter for the year, a seNey of <br />customers can be taken to determine public reaction to the program. <br /> <br />Publicize Results <br /> <br />Through the water conservation newsletter going to each customer, the local <br />paper, fliers, and posters in local businesses the program will be announced, <br /> <br />A quarterly newsletter will be developed around the program, and will be sent <br />to all customers. The first newsletter will contain an explanation of the <br />program, an application for participation as one of the chosen residences, <br />sponsors, and other water conservation information, The next will give an <br />update as to the residences chosen, a detailed break down of current indoor <br />and outdoor usages, household statistics, and the methods to be accomplished <br />at each home and why these methods were applied. Actual photographs of <br />the residences before the "make-overs" will be included. The third newsletter <br />will further update water usage, monitoring results, and further conservation <br />measure implementation, The final newsletter for the year will give results, <br />and projections, as well as photographs of after the "make-overs", The <br />methods by which all results were achieved, as well as all cost-benefit analysis <br />will be outlined, Projections of when such a renovation would start paying for <br />itself in water savings will also be included. The final newsletter will also <br />include projections for the next year's extension of the program, A survey of <br />public reaction to the program can also take place in this issue. <br /> <br />These results, articles, and photos will be promoted in local papers, fliers, and <br />
