J
~ I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

HB 1154 CONSERV A nON MEASURE #3

Industrial and Commercial Water-Use

Description of Conservation Measure:
Water efficient industrial and commercial water-using processes

Existing Conditions:
The Willows Water District is essentially residential with a few commercial and no industrial water
users. The District has very little room for industrial or commercial growth. Therefore, thi s measure
has not been an issue addressed by Willows in the past, and as a result, very few commercial
conservation mandates have been enacted. Car washes however are required to recycle water.

Future Implementations:
Due to the size of Willows Water District and its constituent make up, industrial and commercial
water using processes will be addressed on a one-on-one basis with each entity. A commercial water
use audit for every industrial or commercial user within the District could be conducted. A direct
interface and a tailor-made plan for each entity, will result in a greater education due to attention
being paid to the different water using habits of each business

For new industrial and commercial construction the following water recycling devices are
encouraged.
. All refrigerated cooling or air-conditioning units.
. All evaporative cooling or air-conditioning facilities.
. All processes where reuse of water without treatment is found both economical and
practical

9
