x. Other water management activities
The City of Craig may be expanding the raw water
reservoir (Elkhead Reservoir) at some time in the future.
Over $500,000 currently exists in the restricted reserves
for this project and it is possible that increased raw water
supply for municipal use may become available at that time.

SECTION V_ COMMITMENT TO WATER CONSERVATION

The City of Craig is committed to promoting water
conservation into the future. The cost of producing high
quality and safe drinking water for consumption by the
customer is a paramount concern. Federal and state
guidelines governing the water industry are constantly
requiring water companies to enhance treatment techniques
and methods which further drive up the cost of finished
drinking water. Constantly facing higher chemical costs,
utility costs. and operation and maintenance costs is
incentive for the City of Craig to save water and encourage
others to save water also. The big picture is ever
increasing costs per gallon being passed on to the
consumers. Water conservation measures like those mentioned
above help keep the demand for finished water to a minimum,
which in turn keeps the cost of production and distribution
to a minimum. For these reasons. the City of Craig Water
Department will continue to search for and eliminate water
leaks within the system and further encourage members of the
public to save and conserve water into the future.

Paae 7
