The City will be the fiscal agent for the project. Both entities were
approved for a Water Efficiency Plan back in 2011. Combined, the two entities deliver an
average of over 2,300 acre-feet over the past four years.
An initial goal of the Plan is to lower overall water demands by 10%. The entities intend to
target outdoor water use and develop programs to reduce it by 3% as well as focus on non-
revenue water due to leaks, and aging meters. Currently, Mount Werner Water Et Sanitation
District is signed up for the Colorado Water Loss Initiative training.
The total cost of the project is $54,100. Both entities are committing 27.7% matching
funds in the form of $15,000 in cash. CWCB staff has reviewed and evaluated the grant
application and has determined that the proposal meets or exceeds the CWCB
guidelines for reviewing grant proposals.
