The Pure Water Colorado Potable Reuse Demonstration Project <br /> would support Denver Water's long-term strategic planning of reclaimed water, which <br /> represents a significant alternative source of supply to traditional surface water <br /> sources and demonstrate that clean, safe drinking water can be produced from <br /> alternative sources. <br /> The Demonstration Project will be geared toward increasing awareness and <br /> acceptance of potable reuse, including the use of onsite tours, informational <br /> materials, and tastings of water produced at the demonstration facility and <br /> engagement with beverage producer(s) to create a product for consumption. Outreach <br /> is targeted towards the general public, regulators and various stakeholders. This <br /> project is aO extension of a currently funded WSRF project that is working to create a <br /> regulatory framework for direct potable reused water. <br /> The total cost of the project is $249,766. Denver Water is committing 81% matching <br /> funds in the form of $47,187 of in-kind services and $154,579 in cash. CWCB staff has <br /> reviewed and evaluated the grant application and has determined that the proposal <br /> meets or exceeds the CWCB guidelines for reviewing grant proposals.
