Item 8 - Floodplain Resoluations (Appendix B)
Mr. McDonald discussed the following resolutions and
recommended approval :
1. Resolution No. 241 - Town of Rangely, Rio Blanco County,
Colorado.
2. Resolution No. 242 - Town of Winter Park, Grand County,
Colorado.
3. Resolution No. 243 - City of Aspen, Pitkin County,
Colorado.
4. Resolution No. 244 - Parachute Creek in the vicinity of
Parachute, Colorado, and Roan Creek in the vicinity of
DeBeque, Colorado.
Ms . Sanfilippo moved, seconded by Mr . Johnston, that the
Board approve the four resolutions listed above. The motion was
adopted unanimously.
Item 9 - Proposed Road Across South Platte Floodplain Park
(Littleton) (Appendix C)
Mr . McDonald summarized his memorandum to the Board
pertaining to the City of Littleton' s proposal to extend West
Mineral Avenue from its intersection with South Santa Fe Drive
westward across the floodplain park and the South Platte River to
intersect with West Ken Caryl Avenue and Platt Canyon Road. He
also summarized his July 8, 1985, letter to Colonel Steven G.
West, District Engineer, Omaha District Corps of Engineers, in
which he raised four issues relating to the Littleton proposal
( letter attached to Appendix C) . In concluding his discussion,
Mr . McDonald stated that he does not believe that the proposed
crossing should be decided upon until the alternatives are
carefully explored and the trade-offs documented.
- 6 -
