The motion was approved <br /> unanimously. <br /> Chairman Johnston recessed the meeting for lunch at 12 : 10 <br /> p.m. <br /> Agenda Item 10 - Request for Feasibility Study - Manvel Canal and <br /> Irrigation Company <br /> (Appendix C attached) <br /> Chairman Johnston reconvened the meeting at 2 :00 p.m. and <br /> requested Mr. Ioannides to discuss Item 10. Mr. Ioannides <br /> referred the Board to Mr . McDonald' s June 27, 1984, memorandum to <br /> the Board which describes the need for the conduct of a <br /> feasibility study to determine the requirements for rehabilitat- <br /> ing the irrigation system to a fully operational state and to <br /> improve the efficiency of operation. The estimated cost of the <br /> study totals $20, 000. <br /> • Mr. Vandemoer moved, seconded by Mr. Robbins, that the Board <br /> approve the staff recommendation to conduct the study provided <br /> that: <br /> (1) The Board shall pay for one half of the study cost, not <br /> to exceed $10, 000, and <br /> (2) The Board' s cost shall be considered a part of the <br /> project' s total cost if the project is subsequently <br /> built with construction fund monies, or the Board ' s <br /> costs shall be repaid in full with interest at 5 <br /> percent per annum if construction on the project is <br /> initiated within 10 years without the benefit of <br /> construction fund monies . <br /> The motion was adopted unanimously. <br /> Agenda Item 11 - Review of Delinquent Payments <br /> As requested by the Board that it be advised of all project <br /> sponsors which are delinquent in their payments to the <br /> construction fund, Mr. Ioannides reported that as of July 2, <br /> 1984, three sponsors, as listed below are delinquent in the <br /> amounts shown: <br /> • <br /> -7- <br />
