That transmittal was made on November 23, <br /> 1948, and went to the Chief of Engineers, to the Federal <br /> Power Commission, to the Department of Agriculture, and to the <br /> Department of the Interior. I have had no response from the <br /> Federal Power Commission. However, I do not consider that <br /> serious, because I am confident that in view of their approval <br /> of our previous draft, they will find no basis for objection <br /> in the revised draft. <br /> Similarly, I have had no response from the Department of <br /> ,Agriculture, and I expect no objection on their part either, <br /> inasmuch as the position of that department, as stated in the <br /> first communisation from its secretary, was that they merely <br /> wanted to be informed as to the progress of the Compact, and <br /> really had no direct interest in its substance. <br /> I received aoknowledgment from the Chief of Engineers in <br /> a letter to me from General Feringa under date of December 2, <br /> 1948.
