posed importation from the Colorado River Rasing or a trans-
mountain diversion from the Colorado River Basin, into the
Arkansas Elver Basin was made.
we had before us the letter of Mr. Straus, Commissioner
of the bureau of Reclamation, to Ueneral Kramer under date Of
May Sand, and assumed from that that the clause suggested by
Mr. Deblar did not meet with the approval of the Bureau of
Reclamation, and therefore any eoseideratien we might give
it would have to be limited accordingly.
I may say that the Committee or those of us that were
present and any other persons to whom I have submitted this
clause suggested by Mr. Debler, including Mr. Clifford €h. Stone
of our water Board, did not at all approve Mr. neblerla clause.
Insofar as any recommendation formally of the members
of the Committee concerning this matter, we recommend three
alternative suggestions: First, that as there is nothing
from the Interior Department of the Bureau of Reclamation
submitted in the form of any proposal for a Compact clause
