Wood Lake Mutual Water&Irrigation Company—Wood Lake Dam Rehabilitation
Authorization: SB 97-008 County: Weld—W of Eaton

Terms of Loan: $188,000 @ 3.75%for 30 years Project Type: Dam Rehabilitation
This project is the replacement of the Wood Lake Dam outlet works including all control
structures,installation of a toe drain,raising the existing saddle dam, and construction of a spillway
to pass the 50% Probable Maximum Precipitation flood. The need for the improvements is a result
of the State Engineer's Office dam safety requirements. Smith Geotechnical, Inc. of Fort Collins
commenced design in late spring 1998. Construction is scheduled for the fall of 1999.
Ryan Gulch Reservoir Company—Ryan Gulch Dam Rehabilitation

This project is the rehabilitation of the Ryan Gulch Dam which includes the construction of
a new spillway, lining the upstream face of the dam with a clay liner, sleeving the existing 24-inch
outlet pipe, and constructing a new upstream controlled inlet works. Boyle Engineering, Inc. of
Denver has been contracted to complete the project design which is scheduled for construction for
the fall of 1999.
Riverside Reservoir and Land Company—Riverside Reservoir Spillway Rehabilitation

Water Source: South Platte River Project Yield: 200 ac.ft.
Terms of Loan: $450,000 @ 3.75%for 20 yrs. Project Type: Spillway Rehabilitation
This project is the construction of an emergency spillway on the Riverside Reservoir Dam,
located 11 miles northwest of Wiggins in Weld County. The State Engineer has placed a storage
• restriction on the reservoir until an emergency spillway is completed. The Riverside Reservoir and
Land Company contracted with W.W. Wheeler and Associates of Denver to prepare construction
plans and specifications. The State Engineer's office is currently reviewing the plans with
construction scheduled to commence and be completed in late 1999.
