The new crest section will include reinforcing bar anchors drilled and grouted into the <br /> original dam and a new drainage/seepage control system. Project design is currently underway by <br /> GEI Consultants,Inc. of Englewood, CO. Construction is scheduled for summer and fall of 1999. <br /> Leroux Creek Water Users Association—Carl Smith Dam Rehabilitation <br /> Authorization: Emergency Infrastructure Account County: Delta—N of Hotchkiss <br /> Water Source: Leroux Creek Project Yield: 750 ac.ft. <br /> • <br /> Terms of Loan: $300,000 @ 4.0%for 30 years Project Type: Dam Rehabilitation <br /> This emergency loan project is the re-construction of the Carl Smith Dam, located 15 miles <br /> north of Hotchkiss in Delta County, which failed unexpectedly in May 1998. The Leroux Creek <br /> Water Users Association has contracted Smith Geotechnical Engineering Consultants of Forth <br /> Collins to analyze design alternatives and complete construction plans and specifications. <br /> Construction is scheduled for the summer and fall of 1999. <br /> San Luis Valley Canal Company—Diversion Structure Rehabilitation <br /> Authorization: SB 97-008 County: Rio Grande—E of Monte Vista <br /> Water Source: Rio Grande River Project Yield: 25,000 ac.ft. <br /> Terms of Loan: $188,000 @ 3.75%for 30 years Project Type: Diversion Structure Rehab. <br /> This project is the rehabilitation of the San Luis Valley Canal Company's Rio Grande River <br /> diversion structure. The project is located in Rio Grande County, 3 miles east of Monte Vista. The <br /> • <br /> Alamosa office of the Natural Resource Conservation Service has prepared the design plans with <br /> the CWCB staff preparing the construction contract documents. Due to unexpected expenditures in <br /> 1998,the Company has postponed construction of the project until the fall of 1999. <br />
