This project is the rehabilitation of Foothills Reservoir dam, located west of Longmont in <br /> • <br /> Boulder County. The dam has an inadequate spillway and severe seepage through the embankment <br /> and has had a storage restriction placed on it by the State Engineer. The Highland Ditch Company <br /> has contracted with Smith Geotechnical Engineering Consultants of Fort Collins to analyze design <br /> alternatives and complete construction plans and specifications. Construction is scheduled to <br /> commence in fall of 2000 or spring of 2001. <br /> Riverside Reservoir and Land Company—Riverside Reservoir Spillway Rehabilitation <br /> Authorization: SB 98-1189 County: Weld—NW of Wiggins <br /> Water Source: South Platte River Project Yield: 200 ac.ft. <br /> Terms of Loan: $450,000 @ 3.75%for 20 yrs. Project Type: Spillway Rehabilitation <br /> This project is the construction of an emergency spillway on the Riverside Reservoir Dam, <br /> located 11 miles northwest of Wiggins in Weld County. The State Engineer has placed a storage <br /> restriction on the reservoir until an emergency spillway is completed. The Riverside Reservoir and <br /> Land Company contracted with W.W. Wheeler and Associates of Denver to prepare construction <br /> plans and specifications. The State Engineer's office and the Riverside Reservoir and Land <br /> Company are currently evaluating alternate spillway sizes. Construction of the project is currently <br /> on-hold,pending resolution of the spillway size and downstream property issues. <br /> San Luis Valley Canal Company—Diversion Structure Rehabilitation <br /> Authorization: SB 97-008 County: Rio Grande—E of Monte Vista <br /> Water Source: Rio Grande River Project Yield: 25,000 ac.ft. <br /> Terms of Loan: $188,000 @ 3.75% for 30 years Project Type: Diversion Structure Rehab. <br /> This project is the rehabilitation of the San Luis Valley Canal Company's Rio Grande River <br /> diversion structure. The project is located in Rio Grande County, 3 miles east of Monte Vista. The <br /> Alamosa office of the Natural Resource Conservation Service has prepared the design plans with <br /> the CWCB staff preparing the construction contract documents. Project construction is on-hold, <br /> pending final approval from the San Luis Valley Company Board to proceed ahead with the <br /> project. <br /> Boulder&Lefthand Irrigation Company—Twin Lakes Outlet Improvements <br /> Authorization: 1998 Small Project Loan Account County: Boulder—NE of Boulder <br /> Water Source: Boulder Creek Project Yield: 218 ac.ft. <br /> Terms of Loan: $100,000 @ 3.75%for 15 years Project Type: Dam Outlet Improvements <br /> This project is the reconstruction of the Boulder&Lefthand Irrigation Company reservoir's <br /> (Twin Lakes) outlet and inlet structures and the construction of a new emergency spillway. Recent <br /> State Engineer Office inspections indicate that the outlet conduit has rusted through and is <br /> functionally obsolete. Rocky Mountain Consultants of Longmont are currently preparing the final <br /> • design plans and specifications,with construction scheduled for the Fall of 2000. <br />
