• Master Contract participant data collection and water audits —Ten of the eleven water audits
have been scheduled and completed. Most of the information associated with the audits and
related data collection has been obtained from the participants, and has been incorporated into
the project database. Only a small amount of data from Penrose and Salida remains to be
collected, otherwise the audits and data collection efforts have been completed'.
• Develop four local water conservation plans — Meetings were held with four local utilities to
initiate local water conservation planning. These included the City of Lamar, the City of La Junta,
South Swink Water Company and the City of Las Animas. Upon review of the data and utility
planning needs, both Lamar and La Junta decided to pursue Water Efficiency Grant funds
independent of this project to allow the District to serve more local communities. Therefore,
the District has engaged the City of Rocky Ford to prepare a local water conservation plan. A
fourth planning entity has not been identified as of this writing.
Data has been collected from South Swink, Rocky Ford and Las Animas, and has been
incorporated into the project database. A first draft of the local water conservation plan has
been prepared and forwarded to South Swink and Las Animas for staff review and comment.
• Develop two regional water conservation plans—Meetings were held with the Upper Arkansas
and Lower Arkansas Valley Water Conservancy Districts to initiate development of their water
conservation plans. Data has been collected from both entities, with those data from the Upper
District incorporated into the project data base. Data is still being collected from the Lower
District. A first draft of the Upper District's Water Conservation Plan has been forwarded for
staff review and comment.
• Case Studies—data related to four case studies have been collected related to the following:
o South Swink trailer park submetering;
o Lamar AMR and AMI installation
o Town of Swink AMR installation
o Rocky Ford AMR installation
Data from all of these entities have been entered into the project database and case study
write-ups have been completed for the Town of Swink and South Swink. The other write ups are
in progress, awaiting follow up requests for data from Lamar and Rocky Ford. If funds are
available, additional case studies related to AMR installations in Widefield and Fountain may be
developed.
1 Colorado Springs Utilities, which was included in the proposed scope of work, has declined participation in the
project.
2
