The reservoir, constructed in 1987-1989, provides water for agricultural, <br /> municipal, industrial, and recreational purposes in the upper Yampa River Valley. An 800-kilowatt <br /> hydropower plant is an integral part of the project. In addition,the project includes extensive public <br /> Irecreational facilities as well as 80 acres of dedicated wetlands and 640 acres of wildlife habitat. The <br /> original cost of the project was $17,500,000 financed in part through a loan from the USBR and a <br /> I CWCB loan of $7,900,000 at 5.0 %for 40 years. In 1996,the District applied to the CWCB for an <br /> additional loan to help pay off their USBR loan. <br /> IProject Data <br /> Sponsor: Upper Yampa Water Conservancy District County: Routt River: Yampa <br /> ITerms of Loan: $2,000,000 at 4.5% for 20 years Substantial Completion Date: July 30, 1997 <br /> I Design Criteria: The reservoir has a total capacity of about 33,000 acre-feet and the dam is a <br /> 145-foot high roller compacted concrete structure. <br /> IVolume of Water Delivered by the Project: Project water supply is allocated as follows: <br /> agriculture 4,000 acre-feet, municipal and industrial 2,000 acre-feet, power generation 9,000 <br /> acre-feet,recreation 15,000 acre-feet, and a permanent pool of 3,000 acre-feet. <br /> I <br />
