Water Quality Issues
There will be no adverse water quality issues to address as construction will not impact
any streams, nor will there be any new water supplies developed as a part of this project
for which water quality concerns would need to be addressed. The junior water rights will
only be diverted during such times as when there is sufficient water present in the
system so that there are no senior calls on the stream. At these times of high flow there
should not be significant water quality issues associated with the diverted water.
Field Investigations
Five soil investigations of the reservoir site have been completed. The first four were
investigations of the subsurface conditions at the reservoir for preliminary design and
feasibility studies. The latest investigation was performed by URS Corporation in 2010
including final geotechnical engineering analyses for the final design of the Ziegler
Reservoir Enlargement project. Initial excavation of the enlarged dam footprint and
some excavation of the reservoir area have been completed in the fall of 2010.
,a u. W Ulheeler nnd puvciates, Inc.
