PCC Meeting — July 08, 2010 Version: August 30, 2010 <br />1. The slide gate was opened and closed in the presence of the Association, <br />and it was deemed to be operating as designed. <br />VII. Tribute Garden <br />A. Attendees were presented with two options for the access to the tribute garden; <br />one with a single multidirectional entrance /exit, and one with a one -way <br />circular drive. <br />B. It was noted that there is a sense of urgency to begin construction, as the newly <br />relocated County Road 210 will be opening soon, and both alternatives require <br />modification to the currently contracted guardrail installations. The guardrail <br />contractor is currently on hold awaiting a redesign effort for either location. <br />C. All attendees concurred with the preferred alternative (one -way circular drive), <br />and the determination to proceed with the work <br />1. Absent sponsors included the Navajo Nattvtr and thy, La Plata <br />Conservancy District of New Mexico. <br />2. Sky Ute Sand and Gravel has agreed cfionAte the mat' s required for <br />the garden, and Weeminuche Construction Authority agre,to donate the <br />labor and equipment for the co 6" <br />D. The coordinator for the tribute garden 4% _noted that a mechanism needs to be <br />established such that cash donations can 66-:1 accepted, as well as a public <br />process for sponsoring names to be considered for inclusion into the tribute. <br />1. The ALPWCD presented a basic overview of the recreation planning at their <br />last meeting. <br />B. Reclamation is considering a Notice of Intent to sole source the recreation <br />planning to ALPWCD, which could lead to the issuance of a grant. <br />XIII. Fish Mortality Testing <br />A. Mortality testing has occurred at the 6802 and 6825 water surface elevations <br />B. Although results are preliminary, it looks like the mortality is very successful <br />for the fish themselves, but not for the eggs. <br />
