C. The environmental commitment it to prevent escapement from Lake
Nighthorse, allowing fish to enter the Animas River below the dam.
1. This means that Reclamation needs to address the reality of eggs possibly
surviving and being introduced to the river.
D. Two additional tests will be performed at approximately the 6852 and the 6882
elevations. The intent is to test the mortality at each atmosphere of pressure
the fish/eggs will be subjected to if they make it into the outlet works.
E. CDOW has mentioned a possibility of stocking warm water species in the lake,
possibly as a deterrent to public stocking of undesirable species. Reclamation
has committed to stocking trout in the lake, which is currently scheduled for
late this summer or fall. Reclamation has no commttifidtit -for stocking any
other species, and if agreement can be made, CDQ*,yvould do any other
stocking on their own.
XIV. Cultural Resources
A. The Reclamation archaeologist and the cultt'i' 1 resources c6b- 4nator for the
UMUT noted that the technical publications will be supplied tobraries,
universities, and other technical resou 04; however, there is an ii t st in a
summarized lay coffee table edition. Ali ndees=!ure asked to provide
information on the number of books to be printed.
1. It was noted that the book will contain mddli.local information regarding
historical families, the U10. Trail, the protect history, etc.
2. Attendees were also asked to ctn�tder how many Bard back editions
should be printed, versus the number s f soft back copies.
a. There is currently a budget £or 175 copies in a soft -back form.
B. Technical voluirie 1.J3 have been;`printed and distributed. Volumes 14 -17
will be distributed t6ii6ther.

in the tribute garden.

distribution.
