Descriptions and Document No. Document Title <br />Specifications R10AV40R04 Recovery — Permanent Operating Facility, Animas -La Plata C-1 <br />Project, No. 3.000, TAS::14 0681::TAS <br />PART C - DESCRIPTIONS AND SPECIFICATIONS <br />C.1 Background and Summary of Work <br />(a) Background <br />(1) As part of the Animas -La Plata Project (ALP), a permanent operating facility <br />was identified to provide a shop and office facility to support the operations <br />and maintenance of the associated facilities. <br />(2) The Project components include the design and construction of a high <br />performance and sustainable building to incorporate an office to support five <br />employees, a conference room large enough to facilitate community <br />meetings, and a shop and storage facility of approximately 3,500 square feet, <br />of the approximate 6,000 square foot facility, to be located within the Durango <br />Pumping Plant parcel. <br />(3) The Durango Pumping Plant parcel was formally the site of a uranium mill <br />tailings site. The site went through remediation as a Uranium Mining Tailings <br />Remediation Area (UMTRA). Upon completion of the remediation, the site <br />was capped. <br />(4) Reclamation's easement requires the monitoring of radiation levels on the site <br />and precludes removal of any excavated materials from the site. <br />(5) The contract award for the design, construction, commissioning and LEED <br />certifications shall not exceed $1,900,000, for this project including stipends. <br />Offers are under no obligation to approach this limit. <br />(b) Summary of Work <br />(1) Interactively design, construct, and commission permanent operating facility, <br />related systems, associated parking, site work, storm water management, <br />infrastructure and utilities. <br />(2) The facility and related systems shall provide approximately 6,000 gross <br />square foot single story for general office, shop and related uses. The office <br />shall be approximately 2,500 square feet and the shop and storage facility <br />approximately 3,500 square feet. <br />(3) The facility shall be accessible by a truck and trailer, all the way around, as <br />well as have pull through access in the shop. <br />(4) The shop shall have a second garage bay and storage. <br />
