Animas -La Plata Project
Feb 13, 2013 Draft Transfer Inspection Report
TRANSFER ISSUE
STIPULATION
Butterfly valves condition
See Section 4 above. (M1E, M2E, M117, M2F, D5, and MPA
Pump condition
through MPF)
Pump condition
See Section 5 above.
Background: The capability of, and actual control that the Auxiliary Control Panel has of
the filling, draining, pumping, and COD valves needs to be confirmed. The Association
requests that the pumps are configured such that (manually or through SCADA) both Unit
1 and Unit 2 pumps can operate simultaneously, with one pumping to COD and one
pumping to Lake Nighthorse or both pumping to Lake Nighthorse. The need and logic of
pump and plant shutdowns that are tied to both 14 cfs pumps requires documentation.
The ACP logic associated with the isolation, filling, and guard valves requires
documentation for completion of the SOP.
7. 28 CFS Pumping Units 3 and 4, Piping, and Valves
There are two horizontal centrifugal split -case pumps, nominally rated at 28 cfs. They are
driven by two 2,500 hp electric motors.
The following are located between the suction manifold and discharge manifold:
• Motor - operated, AWWA Class 150B, 24" suction butterfly valves — (M3D, M413)
• Air valve
• Motor - operated, ANSI class 300, 24" discharge butterfly valves — (M3E, M4E)
• Hydraulically dampened 24" check valves
• Manually- operated, ANSI class 300, 24" guard butterfly valves — (M3F, M4F)
• Connection to 72" discharge manifold
TRANSFER ISSUE
STIPULATION
Butterfly valves condition
See Section 4 above. (M3E, M4E, M3F, M4F)
Pump condition
See Section 5 above.
8. 56 CFS Pumping Units 5 - 8, Piping, and Valves
There are four horizontal centrifugal split -case pumps, nominally rated at 56 cfs. They are
driven by four 5,000 hp electric motors.
The following are located between the suction manifold and discharge manifold:
• Motor - operated, AWWA Class 150B 36" suction butterfly valves — (M5D - M8D)
• Air Valve
• Motor - operated, ANSI class 300 36" discharge butterfly valves — (M5E - M8E)
• Hydraulically dampened 36" check valve
• Manually- operated, ANSI Class 300 36" guard butterfly valves — (M5F - M8F)
• Connection to 72" discharge manifold
TRANSFER ISSUE I STIPULATION
Butterfly valves condition I See Section 4 above.
