0 <br />The Capacity Coaching Workgroup received a request for a day -long training <br />event for water system operators at the City of Lamar. Unfortunately, the City of <br />Lamar has requested to postpone this training until spring 2013. <br />David Dani, Security and Distribution Lead, has begun development of a course <br />on wild fire /emergency preparation. He is working closely with SWAP and <br />COWARN in this effort. <br />2. Capacity Development and Training Services <br />The CBU delivered successful presentations on TMF and O &M topics at the <br />RMSAWWA/RMWEA annual conference on September 12, 2012. These <br />presentations were designed to help inform water system operators of the CBU's <br />coaching services and provide information on the CBU's new O &M Manual <br />curriculum. <br />In addition to delivering general coaching and "coaching for TUs" training <br />services, the CBU also delivered the 4 hour Building an O &M Manual training <br />seminar to multiple operators and systems during the month of October. <br />The training events page on our website continues to be updated regularly: <br />httpi / /www cdphe state co us/ wq/ drinkingwater /TrainingEvents.htm1. This page <br />also contains instructions on signing up to receive training updates via listserve. <br />Anyone interested in staying up to date on the latest training announcements is <br />welcome to sign up. <br />3. Colorado Drinking Water Excellence Program <br />• Public water system excellence remains a critical aspect of the CBU work plan <br />and strategies to ensure the continued support of excellence are being <br />evaluated. The unit's Security and Distribution lead continues to develop a new <br />and exciting outline of the future excellence program. <br />4. Distribution System Services <br />• Colorado Distribution Operator Training Series (DOTS) courses were taught in <br />Rifle during the months of September and October. This contract includes a total <br />of six complete trainings each consisting of 3- courses (40- hours) offered across <br />the state to maximize access for small system operators. <br />5. Grant and Budget Management <br />Planning and development continued for a SDWRF set -aside work plan for the 4% <br />set -aside for technical assistance to public water systems. We anticipate <br />submitting the final plan for approval to EPA in the first part of December 2012. <br />Thanks to the great work of the Capacity Coaching Work Group Lead, Colorado's <br />Capacity Development Annual Ongoing Implementation Report was submitted on <br />time to EPA. This report was due to EPA Region 8 by September 30, 2012, and <br />provided documentation required to support the EPA Drinking Water Program's <br />recommendation to State Revolving Fund staff regarding the issuance or <br />withholding of capitalization grant funds. <br />5 of 9 Safe Drinking Water Program Dec 7, 2012 <br />
