sediment transport, and vegetative encroachment in and along the central Platte
River. Descriptions of these future tasks should identify potential costs,
schedules, participants, value, purpose, and other information that would serve as
the framework for future efforts. Examples of future work to be considered could
include:
• New or expanded data collection and studies,
• Monitoring programs,
• Site specific tests, investigations, and "pilot projects" of adaptive
management alternatives to improve understanding of sediment
transport and vegetative encroachment issues.
Task 5. Meetings
Under this task, the Consultant should budget for the following six meetings:
• Two meetings with members of the EIS Team and the FWS/ESA
Team, and their consultants, one at the start of the investigation to
gather information and ask questions regarding their analyses and
products, and a second meeting to be held as necessary to ask
questions after the consultant's analysis pursuant to Task 2.
• A meeting with the state representatives to (1) accomplish the
purposes identified in Task 2, and (2) to gather any additional
information related to existing information sources, viewpoints on
Platte river geomorphology, and current concerns relative to the
EIS/ESA analyses and products.
• A one -day meeting with the state representatives at the approximate
mid -point of the study to brief the states on the progress of the study
and to resolve issues that have arisen to that point.
• One meeting with State representatives and other CA participants to
present the draft report at the conclusion of this study.
• One meeting to present the final report and conclusions to the
Governance Committee.
The Consultant may propose other meetings as the Consultant deems to be
appropriate to successfully complete Tasks 1 through 4. In the proposal, the
Consultant should specify the number of meetings included under each task and
the budget for that task.
Task 6. Re orting
Status Reports. The Consultant shall provide status reports to the representatives
of the states at the same time as copies of billings are provided. The status
reports will be of sufficient detail to allow monitoring of progress.
i
