Partnership with Federal, State and Local Entities: Participating in partnerships and agreements for <br />the leveraging of government dollars is an important role of the Board in brings flood protection <br />projects to fruition. The Board activities include technical and financial assistance, administration of <br />federal programs on behalf of the State beneficiaries, and maximize government financial resources for <br />Federal, state, and local flood - related programs. <br />VI. Multi- Objective Planning and Projects: Participate with partners to plan and undertake multi - <br />objective projects designed to reduce flood hazards, stabilize stream channels, provide habitat, reduce <br />erosion, and increase the capacity to utilize water. <br />VII. Statewide Outreach and Education: Activities include improvement in the technical tools <br />through special technical and scientific studies, participating in technical and professional <br />organizations, and conveying a better understanding of the principles of floodplain <br />management and flood loss reduction and flood insurance programs to Colorado entities by <br />conducting workshops. <br />VIII. Water Information: Activities assure that Colorado floodplain and technical information and <br />data are assessable to Colorado entities such as the engineering community and all other <br />floodplain users. Information is supplied to users on demand from the Board's Floodplain <br />Information Support System and CWCB website. Additional activities include maintaining and <br />updating informational systems, designing meaningful websites, and implementing technical <br />standards that assure the information is representative of Colorado floodplains and watersheds, <br />and maintenance of the Board's Floodplain Information Support System. <br />IX. Weather Modification Permitting and Projects: Activities include conducting public <br />hearings, developing a Record of Decisions and Permit for projects that addresses <br />environmental, coordination with local citizens and programs and developing criteria to address <br />safety concerns. Membership and participation on the North American Interstate Weather <br />Modification Council and the Weather Modification Association.
