1.3 Inventory existing water rights, hydrologic data and water uses for the study area and
determine an appropriate study period. This task will be completed in conjunction
with the Technical Advisory Committee.
1.4 Identify available geologic information for the study area
Geologic information for the entire study area should be collected from the literature
and where possible from direct data sources. This information should include both
plan view and cross sectional maps of major soil and bedrock formations, and ground
water systems. The South Platte Lower River Group ( SPLRG) has assembled some
of this information and it should be used to the extent practical.
1.5 Identify available mapping and aerial photography in the study area including but not
limited to CSU's SPMAP resources
Existing mapping and aerial photography should be used to identify major landforms
and hydrologic feature (natural and manmade), and document the area geography.
1.6 Meet with interested parties to identify issues, problems and opportunities
A Technical Advisory Committee made up primarily of members of the SPLRG has
been formed. This group has extensive knowledge of the lower South Platte and their
input is critical to the quality and success of the Study. The Consultant should plan
adequate time to meet with this group to obtain historical and current information
regarding the operation of the lower river and possible surface and subsurface storage
opportunities.
1.7 Define the final study objective and Scope of Work
Upon completion of subtasks 1.1 -1.6 the Consultant will review this Scope of Work
and their proposal in light of the requirements outlined in Tasks 1 -6. The Consultant
may make recommendations regarding potential revisions to the final study objective
and Scope of Work if they believe the revisions will improve the overall study. Any
recommended changes must be approved by the CWCB prior to study
DRAFT FINAL - September 2000
