SECWCD <br />August 18, 2005 <br />4 <br />RECORD OF PROCEEDING <br />feet per second level. During the period of July 28 to August 15, Board of Water Works of <br />Pueblo moved a total of 4,277 acre -feet of water from Clear Creek Reservoir. Without <br />augmentation this year, flows on the Arkansas River would have been as low as 295 cfs. <br />U.S. GEOLOGICAL SURVEY REPORT: <br />Mr. Edelmann reported current streamflows throughout most of the basin are between 50 to 60 <br />percent of average. To date, the cumulative year -to -date streamflow volume measured at <br />Arkansas River at Avondale is about 360,000 acre -feet or approximately 65 percent of average. <br />During the past month, as part of an ongoing storm -water study, the USGS in cooperation with <br />Colorado Springs, City Engineering collected storm -water samples from ten tributaries, two sites <br />on Monument Creek, and four sites on Fountain Creek. All sites in the storm -water project are <br />located upstream of Security. Last month between July 19 -22 as part of a long -term water - <br />quality monitoring effort the USGS, in cooperation with Colorado Springs Utilities, collected <br />samples at eleven mainstem sites on Monument and Fountain Creeks, including sites located at <br />Fountain, Pinon, and Pueblo. These sites are sampled four times a year. <br />Mr. Edelmann reported next week, the USGS in cooperation with the Southeastern District and <br />LAVWCD will collect water quality samples from seven sites on the Arkansas River and four <br />tributaries between Pueblo Reservoir and Las Animas. These samples will be analyzed for <br />salinity, major irons, bacteria, selenium, and uranium. <br />EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR REPORT: <br />Mr. Broderick recognized that Phil Boawn of the Army Corps of Engineers - Albuquerque District <br />was present. Mr. Boawn said there will be Corps representation at upcoming Board meetings. <br />Tamarisk will be discussed at a future meeting. <br />Mr. Broderick said that copies of a progress report to SECWCD from Tim Gates for the second <br />quarter 2005 on Colorado State University Studies was in the Board binders for review. <br />DIRECTOR OF FINANCE & PROJECTS REPORT: <br />O & M Quarterly Report: <br />Mr. Reynolds said that he had found two discrepancies and is working with Reclamation to <br />correct them. He then reviewed the following: <br />• O & M Expenses for FY 2005 <br />Job Summary for FY 2005 <br />Mr. Musgrove reviewed the following: <br />• Fry -Ark Project Work Plan Descriptions Accomplishments, 3rd Quarter -2005 <br />Mr. Broderick thanked Mr. Musgrove and Mr. Person on behalf of the Board for the great job <br />they do in assisting the District on the Fry-Ark tours. <br />V <br />
