Woodward-C
,
features. Field investigations included drilling five test holes from the dam crest to
depths of 80 feet through glacial moraine. Analyses were performed to evaluate the
existing stability and seepage conditions. Various rehabilitation alternatives were
developed and evaluated, and corresponding feasibility level cost estimates were
developed:
Tablachaca Dam, Peru - A 12 million cubic yard landslide was located immediately
upstream of the lazgest dam and hydroelectric power plant in Peru, and threatened to
biock the intake structures. The slide had moved aver 6 feet in a single rainy season on
a failure surface 320 feet deep. WCC performed geologic mapping, drilling and coring,
installation and monitoring of inclinometers, and a review of seismic conditions. WCC
designed and supervised the construction of a series of stabilization measures including
rock botting, drainage tunnels, construction of a 650,OOQ cubic yard buttress, and
stabilizatioa of the buttress found ' acted gravel columns.
Forest City Bridge, South Da t g bndge was constructed to cross
the lake impounded by Oahe n ' River, and provides the only
river crossing for 50 miles in either direction Rising lake levels activated a 75 million
cubic yard landslide in weak Pierre shale materials. Tte slide covers 8,000 feet of
shoreline and reaches 3,500 feet uphill from the abutment of the bridge. WCC has
provided investigation, design, and construction observation services for this ongoing
project.
3.2 PR03ECf KEY PERSONNEL EXPERIENCE .AND QUALIFICATIONS
This section contains brief discussions of the experience and qualifications of the key
personnel named in our organization chart. Resumes for all of these individuals are
included in Appendix A.
Mr. Terry Arnold, P.E., WCC's project manager for this project, has extensive
experience in geotechnieal investigations, analyses and in project management for
embankment dams, inctuding providing design criteria, preparing plans and
speciica.tions, preparing construction cost estimates, and construction inspection on
various projects. Project experience includes initial site investigation; foundation,
Woodward-CIMo ConsulWs
23360lPR0.3 12-08-93(8:53am)IRPT 3'8
