Figure 2 <br />RAW WATER LINES These pipelines have a combined carrying capacity of <br />10.6 MGD and are apparently in good condition. Consideration should be given <br />to the construction of approximately 100 linear feet of 20 -inch cast -iron <br />pipe between the intake structure and the point where a double pipeline <br />starts. Recommendation for this construction is based more on a factor of <br />safety than one of increased capacity. This short pipeline represents one <br />of two points where a single break can cause a 100 per cent stoppage in <br />production. <br />MICRO- STRAINER Unless the algae problem shows a marked increase, the <br />recently installed micro - strainer will treat the maximum demand on the exist- <br />ing plant during the critical seasons. The unit, however, is showing signs <br />of wear due to grit from the river. This is particularly true in the vicin- <br />ity of the bands and seals. Figures 3 and 4 show the exterior of the micro - <br />strainer building and a view of the unit itself. <br />- 29 - <br />
