1991 -1998 Boulder Greenways Coordinator <br />City of Boulder <br />Boulder, Colorado <br />Responsible for planning, coordination, management, and implementation of a <br />comprehensive, state -of- the -art greenway system designed to link virtually every <br />major area of Boulder. The award winning project includes over forty miles of <br />greenways, bridges and underpasses, pocket parks, environmental presentation <br />and restoration areas, and flood capacity improvements. The project budget is <br />over $1 million each year. <br />Reference: Dick Brasher <br />City of Boulder, Transportation Department <br />1987 -1989 Special Projects Manager, City of Boulder, Boulder, <br />Colorado <br />Responsible for planning, coordinating and managing a number of City projects <br />along with providing guidance and input for the preparation of citywide master <br />plans, annual operating and capital budgets. and determination of recommended <br />city policies. Worked closely with the City Manager's office, City Attorney's <br />office and the Parks, Planning, Open Space, and Public Works Departments in a <br />cooperative way to complete each project. Received the 1988 Boulder Employee <br />Performance Bonus Award. The following are some representative projects: <br />Tributary Greenway Project: Directed this Citywide, interdepartmental project <br />which is planned to connect the entire city area with a system of multiuse <br />greenways for transportation, flood control, recreational and ecological purposes. <br />Guided project through approval process before concerned city agencies and <br />coordinated presentations to citizens groups and public at large. Directed a multi <br />disciplinary work team to plan and fmance the project. Proposed and gained <br />approval for a cooperative financing scheme combining a percentage of shared <br />parks and open space annual lottery funds, a flood control fee increase, a <br />percentage of transportation sales tax funds, possible open space funds from the <br />upcoming tax election, and matching grants and developer contributions. <br />Reference: Ed Gawf, Director <br />Community Planning and Development <br />West Arapahoe Project: Instrumental in guiding public process involving <br />historically antagonistic neighborhood, environmental, and business interests <br />resulting in a successful compromise plan which was unanimously adopted by <br />City Council. Applied for and received funding from a variety of sources. <br />
