References: Cindy Jatcko, Planner, City of Boulder <br />Dave Nordgren, West Arapahoe Business Owner <br />Sid Freudenstein, Neighborhood Representative <br />Boulder Creek Stream Observatory: Directed the planning, funding, and <br />implementation of this special public /private project located along Boulder Creek. <br />Over a two year period, brought together city representatives, local business <br />leaders, and environmental groups to design, fund and construct the first <br />underground natural trout stream observatory in an urban area. Obtained and <br />managed all funds for the project and obtained all permits as well as managed <br />personnel to complete the job. <br />References: Bill Zollars, Manager, Regal Harvest House Hotel <br />Jim Waugh, President, Trout Unlimited <br />Jim Knopf, Chairman, Boulder Parks Board <br />Boulder Canyon- Aqueduct Trail: Responsible for initiating and coordinating <br />this multi - jurisdictional 20 mile trail project which includes the City of Boulder, <br />Boulder County, Town of Nederland, and the U.S. Forest Service. Applied for <br />and obtained funding from various sources, organized personnel to plan and <br />implement the project, gave numerous presentations, and obtained approval from <br />local, state, and federal agencies. <br />1985-1989 Boulder Creek Project Coordinator, City of Boulder, <br />Boulder, Colorado <br />Planned, coordinated, and managed $4 million stream corridor project through the <br />City of Boulder. This project won the 1987 Best of Boulder Award, the 1986 <br />Colorado Engineering Excellence Award, and the 1986 Colorado Landscape <br />Design Award. The project has been the subject of numerous articles in national <br />magazines and at national conferences <br />model for urban creek corridor projects <br />Responsibilities: <br />and has been viewed as a state -of -the -art <br />by many U.S. cities. <br />Coordinating city departments, consultants, and interest groups throughout the <br />design and construction of the project. <br />Giving numerous presentations to public boards, commissioners, and City <br />Council. <br />Managing public relations and promoting public awareness of the project. <br />Overseeing the entire budget for the project including annual work plans and <br />goals. <br />Obtaining all necessary permits and approvals. <br />Designing special fish habitat and boating projects. <br />Designing regional bike /pedestrian trail systems, including state -of -the -art multi <br />use underpasses. <br />
