waterless urinal porcelain configuration). Four additional toilets were purchased and installed
at Inglenook using the funding that was original earmarked for the urinals.
• Room access, and in some cases showerhead and faucet configurations, at Inglenook prohibited
installation of most of the showerheads and some of the faucet aerators at this location. The
City is working to create a faucet aerator and showerhead installation program at one of the
local trailer parks to offset the lack of participation at Inglenook.
We plan to track the number of actual installs that the City is able to implement, and not charge the
CWCB for those fixtures that were not installed as per the grant application. To this point, some of the
funding currently committed to the City by PO 10000000077 will probably not be needed, but we will be
able to provide a better definition of the actual reduction by the 75% progress report.
Steps Remaining
The City will be continuing to pursue residential, commercial and HOA customers to complete water
audits. Data from these audits is crucial to the City's future grant applications as well as to our ability to
create additional water savings, and educate and engage our customer base. The City will also continue
to work to place the surplus showerheads and faucet aerators. We will not give away these fixtures, but
will be certain to do the installations.
The City has already begun to collect water use data for those locations where installations are
complete. These data will continue to be collected for 8 months before the draft report will be
prepared. The final report is currently expected to be produced in March of 2011.
Thank you for all your support in the planning and implementation of our water conservation program.
Our community has benefited greatly from the funding and technical assistance provided by the CWCB
throughout the past several years.
Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
Respec fully,
Dawn M. Hessheimer
Water Resource Specialist
Cc: Great Western Institute
