Q) Why not stock the endangered species? <br />Q) Will the Yampa Plan be coordinated with the Moffat County Land Use <br />Plan? <br />Q) Can existing hatcheries be used- to produce the endangered species? <br />Q) Which will take precedence the Endangered Species Act or this forum? <br />Q) What is the real value of savings these fish? <br />C) Tourists like things that are unusual (or rare), they won't be coming to <br />Craig to see another Walmart. Keep what's unique, the Yampa River. <br />C) A preliminary alternative need_ s -to be prepared ASAP to present to the <br />Yampa Valley citizens. This will help the YRBP to prepare a citizens' <br />response to the Yampa Plan. <br />Q &C) These meetings need to be better advertised in Steamboat; get the <br />local press up to speed, encourage. diverse public involvement. Where <br />are the Steamboat papers? <br />C) Headwater reservoirs should be used for water storage to be filled from <br />Spring run off waters this. would provide excess water in low water <br />years. Elk Head Reservoir enlargement alone will not be sufficient <br />storage to insure future development in the Yampa Valley. The small <br />storage reservoirs would also furnish untold recreation opportunities <br />for the Yampa Basin. There are several good reservoir sites on the <br />tributary waters to the Yampa that need to be utilized. <br />C) Need more meetings to bring this type of information to the people so <br />that intelligent questions can be asked by people and to insure that <br />adequate answers help to create a more through understanding of what <br />is actually going on. <br />C) 1 would like to volunteer to be on the Ad Hoc committee for MOU <br />between the DOW and the YRBP.
