1994 Invited by National Marine Fisheries Service, Northwest Fisheries Science Center, <br />to become a member of a gas, bubble. disease working group to identify short- <br />and long -term information needs relative to effects of high levels of dissolved <br />gases on migrating salmonids, identify research needed to address these needs, <br />and identify components of a sound monitoring program. <br />1994 Invited by Bonneville Power Administration to serve on an expert panel of 10 US <br />and Canadian. Scientists to discuss gas supersaturation and associated problems <br />in the Columbia River Basin. During the 2 days meeting we reviewed present and <br />probable future gas supersaturation problems on the Columbia and Snake Rivers; <br />reviewed current gas supersaturation research projects; and defined and <br />prioritized research needs. <br />1994 Asked to serve as an expert witness in the Lower Missouri Basin water <br />reservations hearings by Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks. <br />1993 Appointed Co -Chair of Montana -North Dakota Pallid Sturgeon Recovery Work <br />Group made up to state and federal biologists and administrators. The purpose <br />is to advise the FWS (including the recovery team) -and other affected entities <br />having management and research responsibility for pallid sturgeon in MT and ND. <br />The group has developed research needs and priorities, and recommended and <br />acquired funding for high priority projects. <br />1993 Asked by Foundation for Montana Trout to assist in prioritizing research needs. <br />1991- present <br />Serve as technical advisor for aquatics to Montana Land Reliance, Montana's�lonly <br />private, statewide land trust. The non - profit organization acquires conservation <br />easements to protect natural resource values. <br />1991 Asked by Montana Chapter AFS to prepare testimony and testify at hearings on <br />the Upper Missouri River Water Reservation application of Montana Department <br />Fish, Wildlife and Parks. <br />1991 Invited by National Taiwan University and the Government of Taiwan to advise on <br />recovery of the endangered Masu salmon. <br />1990 Asked by Montana Wildlife Federation for assistance /review of proposal on <br />"Community Cooperative Stream Flow Initiative - A Grass -roots Approach to <br />Montana's Water Allocation Crisis." <br />19 <br />
