The manager discussed two flow scenarios with.the board and noted that
the Taylor Reservoir release schedule was revised July 19, 2002 by the
local users group. She said that consensus was not reached at the meeting.
Mark Schumacher said that he thought there was consensus among the
local users, although he noted that he left before the meeting ended. He
brought up the issue of how much water to carry over next year and who
owns it. He suggested that the board help Uncompahgre to make sure it's
first fill water, and said that he supported flow option 1.
Steve Glazer moved to have the manager covey board approval of flow
option 1 to the Bureau of Reclamation. Jim Cochran seconded the motion.
The motion carried.
3 DROUGHT EMERGENCY CONTRACT FOR WATER OUT OF BLUE MESA
RESERVOIR
The manager said that to date, twenty -four people have committed to a
total of One - hundred thirty -two acre feet, and that an additional sixty acre
feet will probably be sold by the end of the week. She said that people are
appreciative, and that office staff is working through issues and needs
which had not been anticipated.
Diane Lothamer said that we need to account separately for any work Jim
Slattery does on this effort.
4 WATER MANAGEMENT PLAN STATUS UPDATE
The manager said that she sent a memorandum to the board about the
worksession we had earlier this month on the Water Management Plan. She
recommended scheduling another work session. Consensus of the board
was to conduct a work session on August 5, from 7:00 a.m. — 9:00 a.m.
5. MISCELLANEOUS MATTERS
Dennis Steckel said he recently attended a Colorado Water Congress State
Affairs Committee meeting at which the Central Colorado Project was
discussed.
