Karen Wessels, President/Chairman
Windsor Chacey, Secretary/Treasurer
Carrie S. Weiss, Manager
Gene Tautges, Assistant Manager
Steve Hartvigsen
Robert Huff
Harold Slavinski
had arrived, area hotels were filled and restaurants were busy thereby making it impossible to begin
installation of the water efficient fixtures until April. Installation began immediately following the
departure of the throngs of visitors.
Due to the aged nature of some the "historic" buildings, there were some installation challenges
that caused unexpected delays and required extra effort; however, all obstacles were overcome and
the fixtures were successfully installed.
Steps Remaining
As of May 1, 2010, the District has begun tracking the water use at the participating businesses. The
new use patterns will be compared to the establishment's use in years past. This tracking will
continue for 1 year with a 9 month final report and water analysis being submitted to CWCB in
February 2011 thus fulfilling the requirement set forth by CWCB.
There are still a handful of fixtures that have not yet been installed due to the differences between
the projected amount of fixtures needed and the actual. The District is not seeking reimbursement
from the grant funds for these uninstalled fixtures. It is anticipated that an appropriate location will
be found and these orphan fixtures will be installed in the next few weeks.
The District is awaiting the arrival of the appropriate signage to accompany the new fixtures
installed. Final site visits and inspections will be conducted simultaneously with the installation of
signage.
Thank you for the support and assistance in the Smart Water Audit project. Our efforts have been
well received by the community and the quantifiable outcomes of the program are being anxiously
awaited.
Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
Respectfully,
e
Mat deGraaf
Conservation Coordinator
Cc: Tracy Bouvette, Great Western Institute
100 Lyn Avenue www.pawsd.org (970) 731 -2691
P.O.
