This report will detail the steps
completed thus far, any issues that have arisen, and a discussion of the remaining work involved for
the successful completion of the program.
Steps Completed
Since the issuance of Purchase Order OE PDA 10000000069, signifying the award of the grant from
CWCB, PAWSD, alongside Great Western Institute (GWI) and other subcontractors, have successfully
completed the auditing and retrofits of 16 area businesses. This effort has resulted in the installation
of 284 1.5 gpm low -flow showerheads, 349 .5 gpm faucet aerators, 33 High Efficiency dual flush
toilets, and 13 waterless urinals.
The Project Planet linen re -use program has been installed in 8 area hotels, some of which also
participated in the fixture retrofit program further expanding their water saving potential.
The District's water conservation program website, www.catchthewaveandsave.com has been and
is continually updated to promote the efforts of the District's Smart Water Audit program and
encourage the development of a water conscious community. This effort is a dovetailed extension of
the Messaging Strategy which is still ongoing but has thus far included Press Releases in local papers,
Radio spots, and community event participation.
Obstacles
During the grant request preparations, it was anticipated that the auditing and retrofits would be
completed before the busy spring break period in March.
