Task 204 - Prepare Preliminary Mapping for Preferred Alignment
Preliminary mapping will be prepared for the preferred alignment to be used as a base for further
evaluation. The mapping will be used to develop the conduit profile and hydraulic model.
Task 205 - Prepare Preliminary Profile of Preferred Alignment
A preliminary profile will be developed for the preferred alignment. The profile will be used to determine
participant tie-in locations and for facility siting evaluations.
Task 206 - Identify Participant Water System Tie-In Locations
Information will be gathered from participants to identify desirable water system tie-in locations to the
Conduit. These locations will be used to develop the hydraulic model. Water pressure needs and
availability will be determined.
Task 207 - Conduct Facility Siting Evaluation for Filter Plant and Storage Tanks
Based on the preferred alignment mapping and profile, an evaluation will be conducted to determine the
optimum water filter plant and storage tank locations along the Conduit.
Task 208 - Review and Update Projected Conduit Water Demands
Participant water demands will be reviewed for inclusion in the hydraulic model.
Task 209 - Prepare Hydraulic Model
A hydraulic model will be prepared to assess the watez flows and pressures in the Conduit.
Information from previous tasks will be used as the basis for the model. Results from the hydraulic
model will be used to confirm the pipeline sizes, storage tank capacity, and filter plant capacity for the
Conduit.
Task 210 - Evaluate Water Quality Impacts
Effects of water age and water source blending on water quality will be evaluated for the Conduit. Some
of the entities will be using water brought down the Conduit to blend with their existing supplies in order
to bring their water within drinking water standards. Required quantities and resulting quality will need
to be understood and analyzed to understand the complexities of this process.
Deliverables will include a summary technical memorandum of the alternative routes developed,
property ownership maps, a preferred alignment plan and profile drawing, hydraulic model,
findings of the facility siting for the filter plant and storage tanks, and water quality impacts.
These tasks and deliverables are vital to assuring that the technical aspects of the Conduit are
workable and obtainable within the prescribed budget.
Task Group 300 - Perform Environmental Reviews, Permittima Needs and
Constructabilitv Evaluations
The purpose of these tasks is to identify the necessary steps leading up to the environmental review
process. In addition, permitting requirements will be identified and action plans developed to secure the
permits. These tasks will also look at the many outside factors that could affect how the Conduit is laid
out and constructed.
4
