10 <br />3. Determine swimming stamina of each species at various water <br />velocities and for subadult fish at various temperatures; <br />4. Determine the effects of swimming stress on certain aspects of <br />blood chemistry. <br />Striped bass spawning migrations and feeding in the Upper <br />Colorado River drainage. <br />This project will center on the Colorado and Green River tributaries to <br />Lake Powell. The objective of the study will be to determine if =striped <br />bass constitute a threat to survival of the endangered fish species in <br />the drainage. Specific objectives are to: <br />1. Sample the Green and Colorado Rivers for adult striped bass <br />during their spawning period; <br />2. Determine food habits of all migrating striped bass captured'; <br />3. Determine degree of success of striped bass reproduction in the <br />selected tributaries. <br />University Of Idaho <br />The contract with the University of Idaho has only recently been initiated. <br />Fortunately no major alterations in their facilities or equipment purchases <br />are required. All the principle investigations are presently on the <br />staff and can start work immediately. Technicians and graduate assistants <br />are being hired to work with them.
