2.2.2 Previous WIRSOS Model Runs
As part of the Sandstone Depletion Study, WWC modeled the Little Snake River
under four different scenarios acceptable to the USFWS, i.e. Present Modified Conditions
(PMC), Environmental Baseline (EB), Environmental Baseline with Sandstone Reservoir
providing supplemental irrigation and municipal water (EB/SS-M), and Environmental
Baseline with Sandstone Reservoir providing supplemental irrigation and municipal water,
and industrial water (EB/SS-I). The following discussion is a brief description of each of
the above scenarios.
2.2.2.1 Present Modified Conditions (PMC). The PMC run simulated operation of the
Little Snake River over the 1930-1982 period of record with the level of development and
use existing along the river as of 1982. Demands on river water included current valid
water rights for irrigation and municipal uses (Baggs and Dixon) and depletions due to
transmountain diversion for the Cheyenne Stage I project.
2.2.2.2 Environmental Baseline (EB). The EB run simulated operation of the Little
Snake River over the 1930-1982 period using the demand level prepared for the PMC run
plus City of Cheyenne Stage II depletions and permitted water rights which are senior in
priority to Sandstone Reservoir.
16
