LEGAL REPORT: <br />Included in Counsel Lawrence's report were the following: - <br />• State vs. Hjalmer Thode - Director Treadway made the motion that the District <br />approve a request bv Hjalmer Thode for reinstatement into the District's <br />augmentation plan. A new reinstatement form/contract will need to be signed by <br />Mr. Thode in order to obtain updated information. Director Fender seconded. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />Counsel Lawrence suggested that the Board review and update its current <br />reinstatement policy. <br />• Opposition to Condon, 98-CW-475 - Director Treadwa,y made the motion to <br />authorize Counsel Lawrence to negotiate with Mr. Condon's attorney and <br />settle the application as long as the uses are limited to augmentation of irri a? tion <br />wells and wildlife enhancement. Director Rinaldo seconded the motion which passed <br />unanimouslv. <br />• Opposition to Vondy, 98-CW-363 - Applicant is seeking to get GASP to commit <br />certain supplies of water for augmentation of the well. <br />• Opposition to Vandemoer, 97-CW-211- Counsel filed a Motion for Summary of <br />Judgment on the issue of speculation. <br />? Opposition to,W6L.L.C., Watchorn - Director Treadwav made the motion to <br />authorize Counsel Lawrence to approve stipulation on this case. Director Crandall <br />seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously. <br />PRESIDENT'S REPORT: None <br />MANAGER'S REPORT: <br />Inc?udec in Managei, Schott's repon wcre the following: <br />Manager Schott stated that since the last Board meeting gophers had caused a sma11 <br />breach in one of the ponds at the recharge site. However, the site has since been <br />repaired. <br />Manager Schott reminded the Board that staff salaries, attorney and director fees need <br />to be voted upon in preparation for the Proposed 2000 Budget which will need to be <br />presented at next month's Board meeting. <br />Also relating to the Proposed 2000 Budget, Manager Schott asked if the Board felt <br />the need to replace the Ford Ranger. Manager Schott stated, however, that the <br />pickup shows no signs of any serious problems. No action taken. <br />4
