Directors Crandall and Treadway reviewed the meetings they had attended at the Colorado Water <br />Congress Convention held January 2r and 28'. One item Director Crandall noted was tha.t the <br />Colorado Water Congress has for yeazs been involved with the NWR (National Water Resources <br />Association) which is a national lobbying group representing the water community in Washington <br />D.C.. The organization, however, seems to have become ineffective and many states have dropped <br />out. Colorado has agreed to participate in a re-evaluation to try and revive the organization rather <br />than drop out. <br />ALso discussed was the current dispute over the renewal of a recreation lease for Jackson Lake <br />between the Jackson Lake Reservoir and Irrigation Company and the Department of Nafural <br />Resources. Director Kiolbasa made the motion that the District submit a letter to Mr. G" <br />Walcher, Executive Director of the Department of Natural Resources, encouragirm both parties to <br />work together for a fair resolutioa Director Crandall seconded the motion. Motion passed <br />unanimouslv. <br />RIVER MOIVITORING REPORT: <br />Division I, Water Court Resume': <br />• 99-CW-200 Lorenzini Brothers - Director Boling,er made the motion that no <br />statement of opposition be filed on this case. Director Treadway seconded the <br />motion which passed unanimouslv. <br />99-CW-1239 Derrel W. and Jeanne K. Murphy - Director Crandall made the motion <br />that no statement of opposition be filed on this case. Director Treadwav seconded. <br />Motion passed unanimously., <br />99-CW-220 Joseph T. and Maureen M. Rulan - Director Bolinger made the motion <br />that a statement of opposition be filed on this case. Director Treadwav seconded the <br />motion whichpassed unanimously. <br />Julesburg Recharge Demonstration Project: <br />Manager Schott stated that all augmentation charges have been mailed to the well owners except the <br />City of Ovid and the Julesburg Schools. Bills for these two entities have not been sent because the <br />final 1999 usage figures are not yet available. <br />3
