WATER CONSERVATION BUSINESS: None <br />LEGAL REPORT: <br />Included in Counsel Lawrence's report were the following: <br />• Opposition to Vandemoer, 97-CW-211 - The Court granted the Summary Judgment <br />Motion, finding tha.t Vandemoer was speculating on use by 86 wells. <br />• Counsel prepared a Resolution on payment of assessments which the Board <br />approved. <br />• The District will again try and meet with the Julesburg Inigation District Boazd <br />regarding the Peterson Ditch Agreement. <br />• Opposition ta GASP, 95-CW-273 - This case has been referred to the water judge: <br />• Opposition to Sterling, 98-CW450 - Counsel Lawrence attended a status conference <br />on the case. No action has been taken. ` <br />• Counsel Lawrence reminded the Board that there are a few Work Session items <br />that still need to be addressed. Manager Schott will include those items in the <br />upcoming monthly Board Agendas. <br />EDUCATION BUSINESS: <br />Gary Mi11er reported-that- the water festival committee is presentiy fmalizirig the-schedules and -:- <br />agenda for this year's festival. An additional $2,000 has been allotted to the festival from local <br />agencies and businesses. <br />PRESIDENT'S REPORT: None <br />MANAGER' S REPORT: <br />Included in Manager Schott's report were the following: <br />• The District will again sponsor a booth at the Ogallala Aquifer Symposium which will <br />be held on Friday, February 18, 2000 from 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at Northeastern <br />Junior College in Sterling. <br />• The South Platte Lower River Group will be co-sponsoring the Snring Water Users <br />Meeting with the District on March 15, 2000 at the Ramada Inn of Sterling. <br />The Agenda items are still in the formative stages but the Lower River Group has <br />recommended a panel of representatives from Colorado, Nebraska and Wyoming. <br />Director Bolinger asked that the agenda items be user oriented with a possible <br />question and answer period.
