PROJECT APPROACH ' I
Figure 4-7. Potential Data Product -Map of SNODAS SWE in Colorado using ArcGIS Tool Developed by
Riverside
Deliverables
1. Statewide data collected for inclusion in the Phase I Flood DSS.
4.5.2 County Data
Goals
Develop and implement a strategy for acquiring flood data from county governments in
Colorado.
Background
FIRM/DFIRM data will form the basis of the Flood DSS. Effective DFIRMs are available on
the FEMA Map Service Center website, and will be the easiest layer to collect and incorporate as
the DFIRM database conforms to nationwide standards. The most challenging aspect of this task
will be collecting information from counties with varying levels of GIS and flood data resources.
This will require a targeted outreach effort that is described in further detail in this section.
Approach
AMEC's approach for county data collection includes:
• Identification and prioritization of data to be collected.
DNR RFP PDA-923 42 R I V E R S I D E
Colorado - SNODAS SWE
January 26, 2009
