Current
potential demand modeled as gage adjustment.
3) Includes gage adjustments to achieve 1989 potential demands and dry-year increments.
4) Not operated in all scenarios and operated in a subordinated priority position in some
scenarios.
5) Only 1,300 of/yr evaporation depletion actually modeled.
6) Includes all existing irrigation depletions estimated by Division 6 to be relying on water
rights adjudicated junior to 1954 Juniper project rights.
7) Future Steamboat Springs municipal demand, augmented from Stagecoach.
Reservoir Operations
Three existing reservoirs are operated explicitly in the basin model--Stagecoach
Reservoir, Steamboat Lake, and Elkhead Reservoir. The operations of all other existing
reservoirs (most of which are located in headwaters areas) were assumed to have negligible
effect on basin hydrology either because of their small size or because of their mode of
operation.
2-6
