WE FOUND SEVERAL SPECIES OF BACTERIA, ALL COMMON <br />AQUATIC BACTERIA THAT ARE OPPORTUNISTIC INVADERS OF FISH WHEN THE FISH <br />ARE STRESSED. CERTAINLY THE LOAD OF ICHTYOBODO (COSTIA) THAT THE FISH <br />WERE CARRYING WAS SUFFICIENT ENOUGH TO-BE STRESSFUL. THE BACTERIA WE <br />IDENTIFIED WERE: PSEUDOMONNAS PUTRIFACIENS, P. AERUGINOSA, AEROMONAS <br />HYDROPHILA, &. OB , AND KLEBSIELLA OXYTOCQA. <br />I UNDERSTAND THE TREATMENT YOU ADMINISTERED FOR THE PARASITE PROBLEM <br />REALLY STRAIGHTENED THE FISH OUT. I DON'T THINK THE BACTERIA HAD <br />REACHED SUFFICIENT LEVELS TO BE THE CAUSE OF THE MORTALITY. YOU MAY <br />WANT TO KEEP AN EYE ON THE NITROGEN GAS LEVELS AT THE FACILITYo AS A <br />COUPLE OF THE FISH HAD SOME GAS BUBBLE ACCUMULATION BEHIND THE EYE. <br />HOPE THIS INFORMATION IS HELPFUL. <br />PHYLLIS BARNEY <br />CI-N, 88-150 <br />Letter 2.
