Establishment and payment would be through Fred Worthley and
Sandra Wolfe.
MITIGATION:
Bill Geer discussed a letter received from USBR (Washington, D.C.) to the
April Council resolution regarding the large reductions in available
mitigation funds. With unanimous consent, the Council agreed to have the
chairman reply acknowledging this correspondence and 1) reaffirming that state
wildlife departments are now providing funds up front for later reimbursement
by Reclamation, and that these financial resources are needed for our own
programs. 2) We would not like to see this increased or become an
established procedure. 3) States have other important uses for their time
and administrative efforts in mitigation. 4) Request a.complete list, by
USBR priortization, of all projects nationally with dates of starting and
completion and funds allocated, and 5) Stating the Council may wish to support
or comment on projects and/or support changes in priorities.
Because all members needed to be present at other functions of the Western
Association, no action was completed on two other items - 1) National
Recreational Fisheries Policy, a reply to Director Dunkle, and 2) Discussion
of Fish & Wildlife Service Dingell-Johnson administrative funds for CRWC
financial support.
r
RCS:bbb
4
a
41
a
