EXHIBIT G
RESOULTION NO. II
of the
COLORADO RIVER WILDLIFE COUNCIL
Las Vegas, Nevada
April 4-5, 1983
REAFFIRMATION OF RESOLUTION NO. III OF 1982
RELATIVE TO REVIEW OF WATER QUALITY STANDARDS
WHEREAS, The Federal Water Pollution Control Act Amendments of
1965 (PL-89-234) required, among other things, that water quality
criteria be established on interstate streams and rivers, and
WHEREAS, The Federal Water Pollution Control Act Amendments of
1972 (PL-92-500) required, among other things, that States establish
limitations on waste discharges into inter- and intrastate streams and
rivers, and
WHEREAS, the Colorado River basin States subsequently adopted
water quality standards for segments of the Colorado River and effluent
limitations, where appropriate, to meet those standards, and
WHEREAS, recent limnological studies have shown that nutrient
levels and productivity in the mainstream reservoirs of the Lower
Colorado River are low and may be insufficient to sustain optimal fish
production.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Colorado River Wildlife
Council urges a review of water quality standards for the river under
provisions of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act Amendments of 1977
(PL-95-217), to assess appropriateness of nutrient standards in light of-
findings from recent limnological studies.
